In March 2025, LR Media Initiative Limited received a micro-support grant under the Empower You Project, implemented by a consortium led by Caritas Switzerland (CACH), together with StartHub Africa and Gulu Women’s Economic Development and Globalization (GWED-G).
The Empower You Project seeks to empower young people in Uganda by strengthening sustainable income generation, building essential life skills and promoting meaningful youth participation in policy and decision-making at local and national levels.
During one of the joint monitoring visits, representatives from Caritas Switzerland and StartHub Africa engaged with the LR Media team to review the utilization and impact of the support. The visit provided an important opportunity for reflection, shared learning and accountability while enabling the partners to observe how the grant had strengthened LR Media’s operational capacity.
Through the grant, LR Media acquired essential studio equipment that improved the quality and efficiency of its photography, videography and content-production services. This investment has strengthened service delivery while increasing the organization’s ability to generate sustainable income through its social-enterprise activities.
The improved studio capacity also supports LR Media’s wider community mission. Revenue generated through professional media services contributes towards outreach, advocacy and storytelling initiatives that amplify underserved voices and promote positive social change.
